Art Conversations: Sculptors Lilsa Demetrios and Matt Gill
Visit Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford on April 19 at 11:00 am for an Art Conversation with Sculptors Lilsa Demetrios and Matt Gill. These two sculptors from different backgrounds discuss how they take their concepts to craft. This is a complimentary event.

A graduate of Yale University, Demetrios hails from a family of gifted artists--her grandparents were renowned mid-century designers Charles and Ray Eames, and her mother is sculptor Lucia Eames, with whom she shares a studio.
Matt Gil's metal sculptures, while highly technical and refined with his use of negative space, can also communicate great humor through a bold use of color and form. Born and educated in California, Gil says of his process: "The more I visualize the mood or the feeling of a particular piece, as well as the process of constructing a new piece, the easier it is to build it. Sometimes it feels like the pieces build themselves..."
